The digital space has always been a source of wonderment for me. The fact that cubes can be transformed into entire worlds and characters with emotion still amazes me to this day. Growing up, I was inspired to take up drawing. Drawing allowed me to expand my ideas and improve my skills as I aspired to be an exceptional artist and to create new experiences through games and visual effects. My goal was to be like the amazing group of artists that preceded me as pioneers in the gaming and visual effects industry. Battle Toads is a game that sticks out of my mind; it drove me nuts and, at a point, I believed it just wasn’t possible to pass. The first Batman and Predator movies had a huge impact on me. The opening scene flying through the Batman logo… amazing. The visual effects in Predator are scarred in my brain, so cool. My journey begins, I have to create in this world. Let’s do this!
I've enjoyed my many positions throughout my career. Modeling, Facial rigging, Art Directing, Texturing and Directing; they've all given me a unique perspective and appreciation for all the disciplines in the production pipeline. These roles and experiences have honed my skills as a Digital Artist. As someone who loves to grow in this fast changing industry, I am not afraid to learn new things or take on new challenges.
When working on a set or level I’m not thinking about filling the space. Instead, I’m focusing on how someone will experience the story. My goal is to bring these digital worlds to life through the use of mood, space, and time. My current focus is Lighting, Modeling and Texturing to craft the environment and assets so that the players or viewers' experience is enhanced and continuously engaging.
I worked as a layout and lighting artist delivering 22 episodes for the TV series Builder Brothers Dream Factory, which was produced using Unreal Engine. Additionally I’ve shipped over 10 games from AAA to mobile devices. Army Of Two is the largest AAA title I’ve worked on, one of the first games to launch on Xbox 360 and PS3 with over 1.5 million copies sold, while Rubber Taco's was the largest game on PC and mobile devices under the partnership with Zynga and had over 100 000 DAU at its peak.
I take pleasure in meeting and working with new individuals, gaining their perspectives on how to achieve the production's objectives, and providing players and viewers with the best possible experience.
Let’s light it up, and collaborate together on the next adventure!
